Name of the student intern: Medhavi
Pandey
College: Bennett University, School of
Law
Year of study: 1st year
Name of the organisation where you interned and its full address: Together: We Can We Will, New Delhi, India
Duration of internship: June 1,
2021-July 14, 2021
How did you apply: I applied via the
Internship and Placement Committee of Bennett University
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression: The first day was a full packed session where the students got to
familiarise themselves with the team and express what they expected from the
internship. It was a very welcoming and... for the lack of a formal word, fun
session, as we talked about what made us choose law as a career option, what we
look forward to, our honest opinions on a variety of topics etc. The team
displayed immense patience by allowing each and every one of us to speak and
elaborate upon our views even though the meeting went well over the pre-decided
time. Unfortunately, the exceptional circumstance of this period did not allow
us to explore the infrastructure or meet each other in real life, but the
regular meetings and the team members constantly checking up on us maintained a
comfortable and professional environment.
Main tasks: Main tasks of this
internship involved article writing, debate writing, circulation of information
and memorial writing.
Work environment: The work environment
was pleasantly professional. Communication with the organisers and peers felt
easy-going and smooth. They were readily available online and on phone calls; and
were prompt in providing clarification about things we were unsure about.
Good things: Easy communication, a sense
of understanding and comfort shared by every member of the internship as well
as the team, general flexibility (timings of certain tasks were adjusted
according to the students’ university commitments), organisers were considerate
towards the students and mindful of other priorities and engagements they might
have, adequate guidance at each and every step, interactive sessions, students
had a say in their tasks etc.
Bad things: Inadequate time management
Stipend (if any): — No
Anything else? Like: what you did to chill out, lessons learnt etc.:
Students shared a very cordial relationship with
the team. We joked and laughed in almost every meeting. There were no strict
restrictions on language, dress code, format etc. You could comfortably be an
introvert here. Overall, it was a very easy-going and efficacious experience.
We received an authentic preview of life at a law school straight from the
horse’s mouth.
