About the Conference

The St. Joseph’s College of Law (SJCL) is organizing its 2nd Interdisciplinary Conference on Food Security, on April 23, 2022, on its campus in Bangalore.

Through this conference, while exploring the issues related to the 2030 SDG i.e “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture”, SJCL wants to answer both theoretical and practical questions, with a fundamental goal of advancing basic insight in food security and shedding light on strategic actions that can subsequently be generated through scholarly interventions.

Call for Papers for the Conference

The conference invites contributions in the form of full length scholarly papers documenting original and substantial research work aligning with the theme. Contributions are invited on doctrinal, theoretical, methodological, and empirical investigations with emphasis on eliminating hunger in the society.

Papers should be addressed specifically to the following 7 areas linking tofood security and Goal 2 of the SDG 2030:

  • Psychology
  • Political Science
  • Public Policy
  • Economics
  • Commerce and Management
  • Literature, and
  • Law. 

Opportunity for Publication

Select papers emerging out of the double-blind review process & fulfilling submission requirements will be published in a refereed journal.

Who can Submit?

We invite research papers from students, government officials, academicians, legal practitioners, economists, research scholars, professionals from international organizations, and NGOs.

Interested students can participate as attendees in the conference. All attendees shall be awarded with the ‘Certificate of Participation’.

Submission Procedure

Authorship: Maximum of two authors are allowed per entry. In case of co-
authorship, both would be required to register separately.

  • INR 500 for attendees
  • INR 1000 for paper presenters
