About the Competition

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Law at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, is excited to announce an upcoming blog writing competition on the theme of “AI and Predictive Analytics in Law: Revolutionizing the Justice System”. This competition aims to provide a platform for students, researchers, and professionals to share their ideas and perspectives on the intersection of artificial intelligence and law.


The competition will be open to participants from all over the nation who are interested in exploring the potential of AI and its impact on the legal industry. Participants are invited to submit original and thought-provoking blog posts that explore topics related to AI and law, such as the ethical and legal implications of AI, the impact of AI on legal research, AI and legal decision-making, and the future of AI in law.

This competition is an excellent opportunity for participants to showcase their writing skills, gain recognition for their ideas, and contribute to the discourse on AI and law. It is also a great way to engage with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Law and its work in promoting research and education in this field.

AI and predictive analytics are transforming the legal industry, from legal research to decision-making processes. The potential for this technology to revolutionize the justice system is immense, but there are also ethical and legal considerations that must be taken into account.

It is clear that the use of AI and predictive analytics in law is here to stay, and it is up to us to ensure that its use is ethical and beneficial to society We encourage all those interested in AI and law to participate in this exciting competition and share their unique perspectives on this important topic.

Thus, it is an effort on behalf of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad to bring before the legal academia the matters associated with the niche domain and put forth the competition from across the nation in the field of AI and Law to one platform for a fruitful legal academic event.


Eligibility

The conference is open for law students, academicians, practitioners and researchers etc.  This blog writing competition is an opportunity if you are inclined to know the role of AI in Justice Delivery System.

  2. AI and Predictive Analytics in Legal Research.
  3. AI and Predictive Analytics in Legal Decision-making.
  4. The Future of AI and Predictive Analytics in Law.

Submission Guidelines

  1. There is no registration fee for the competition. 
  2. Joint authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors. However, both authors need to register in the same google form. 
  3. Submissions are to be made in electronic form only and are to be sent to cail@nirmauni.ac.in.  
  4. A cover letter mentioning the Name of the Author(s), Professional Position/ Course/Year of Study (as applicable), Name of the Institution/College/University, Postal Address, Email Address and Contact Number must be submitted with the blog as well (could be mentioned on the very first page itself).
  5. The full blog must not exceed a maximum of 1500 words (excluding footnotes and citations).
  6. The main text should be in Times New Roman with font size 12 and line spacing of 1.5. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with spacing of 1.0.
  7. One-inch margins should be maintained on all four sides.
  8. Citation Style: Bluebook, 21st Edition
  9. Full paper has to be submitted in soft copy in both PDF and MS Word.
  10. Maximum two (02) authors are permitted in one paper.
  11. All submitted blogs must be aligned to the Theme and Sub-Theme mentioned above and which must contain the following details:
    • Title of the blog
    • Sub-theme (under which blog is submitted)
    • Name of the author/s
    • Designation/Profession
    • Name of Institution
    • E-mail address
    • Contact details
  1. Only original unpublished work is sought. Any blog submitted to present identical or substantially similar work already published or under review for any other publication will not be considered.
  2. Plagiarism up to 20% including the citations is permitted.   

Important Dates

  • Last Date of Registration: May 10, 2023
  • Last Date of Submission of Blog: May 20, 2023
  • Announcement of Results: May 31, 2023

  • Submission link will be provided to all the registered participants after May 10, 2023. 

Certificates And Awards

  • E-certificates of participation will be provided to all the registered participants.
  • Best blogs will be rewarded and there shall be three blogs selected by a renowned pool of expert reviewers who shall be awarded with Best Blog Award (3,000/-), Second Best Blog Award (2,000/-) and Third Best Blog Award (1,000/-) along with award certificates.
