About the Webinar
Contracting is an integral part of any film, TV, or media production. In this free 1 hour webinar, Haresh Sood of Clerksroom will provide guidance on how to draft and uphold contracts for cast and crew, shooting locations, and important clauses such as intellectual property, data protection, and confidentiality. This webinar is aimed at legal practitioners and those working with them, with an assumed basic knowledge of the topic area.
About the Speaker
- Mr. Haresh Sood will be the speaker in this webinar. Whilst working as a Barrister, Haresh never let go of his other works in journalism, drama, and film. Moreover, he gradually learned how to integrate these into his legal practice which led him to media law.
- Consequently, in the background, he continued his radio journalism, drama, and short film projects as he came from a journalism background having worked for the BBC on a freelance basis back in the ’90s and early 2000s.
- It was not until 2018 that he decided to bite the bullet and go to film school and embark on an MA in filmmaking. He carefully selected the film school he wanted to attend and ultimately decided to go to Sheffield Hallam University from where he ultimately qualified with a Distinction in Filmmaking.
- During the course, there was always one central theme in most of the lectures, projects, or seminars: legal responsibility. This often reminded him of his LL.M. days, in which he studied the legal aspects of journalism and reporting.
