About JNPA
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is the administrative office of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) or JLN Port, also known as Nhava Sheva Port. It is the largest container port in India. Located in Navi Mumbai’s Raigad district, this port on the Arabian Sea is accessed via Thane Creek.
It’s a nodal city of Navi Mumbai. Its common name derives from the names of the Nhava and Sheva villages situated here. This port is also the terminal of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
About the Opportunity
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority intends to engage 01 Manager (Corporate Legal) on a contractual basis. The Professional Functionaries will be engaged purely on a contractual basis for a period of 3 years, extendable for another 2 years

Roles and Responsibilities
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly
- Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with the external lawyers etc.
Eligibility
- Degree in Law from a recognized National/International University.
- 5 years’ work experience in legal wing of Corporates.
- The maximum age limit for the position is 45 years, relaxable in deserving cases
The crucial date for determining eligibility criteria viz., educational qualification, experience, age etc., shall be as on July 1, 2023
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Corporate Maritime Law from a recognized National/International University.
- Experience in Port/Shipping Sector/Infrastructure.
- Practicing experience as an Advocate.
Remuneration
Approx. consolidated pay per months for the post of Manager is Rs. 83,000/- (Rupees Eighty-Three Thousand Only) with annual increase of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) per annum.
