State Government vide Law Department Notification No. 8010/L dated 5.5.1981 introduced Orissa State Legal Aid and Advice Scheme under Orissa State Legal Aid and Advice Programme and constituted Orissa Legal Aid and Advice Board for providing free legal Services to the Weaker Sections of the Community.
About the Opportunity
Applications in the format (as shown at Annexure-1) are invited from the retired Judicial Officers (on Superannuation) in the rank of District Judge/Addl. District Judge for filling up of 05 posts of the Chairperson, Permanent Lok Adalat (PUS) i.e. 02 for clustered districts and 03 for independent district. The tenure of appointment shall be for a maximum period of 05 years or till the age of sixty five years, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must have retired from service on superannuation in the cadre of District Judge by 31.08.2023.
- A retired person holding judicial office higher in rank than that of a District Judge may also apply for the post.
- Applicant must be below age of 65
Salary
- The selected Chairperson shall be entitled to a monthly fee of last drawn salary less the amount of pension received by him/her.
- He/She shall be entitled for other allowances, as admissible from time to time.

- The duly filled in applications shall be addressed to the Member Secretary, Odisha State Legal Services Authority, Aain Seva Bhawan, Sector-1, CDA, Cuttack so as to reach this Office, latest by 5.00 PM of 25.10.2023.
- Self-attested copies of the documents in support of date of birth and copies of the Pensions Papers (if any) shall be attached to the application.
- The eligible candidates shall be duly intimated to attend the selection process (if any) in due course.
