About Army Law College

The Army Law College, Pune (ALC) is a residential institute established in July 2018 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at Kanhe near Pune.

Approval of Govt of Maharashtra for the establishment of the Army Law College at Pune, affiliation with the renowned Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) was received in Mar 2018 and approval from the Bar Council of India was accorded on 28 June, 2018.

Theme

Women are the embodiment of wealth and power; they are vital to society and the day-to-day functioning of the entire family depends on them; they fulfil the roles of teacher, friend, nurse, mother, wife, and homemaker while also taking care of everyone else’s needs. Women are regarded as the backbone of society because they are known for carrying out multiple responsibilities with ease every day

Violence against women is a complex and multi-dimensional phenomenon, and over the years, there have been a number of theoretical approaches that have attempted to explain this complexity.

The United Nations defines violence against women as “any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.”

Participants

The Seminar will include paper presentations and participants who want to attend the Seminar as spectators. Its objective is to encourage participation and paper presentations from researchers, academicians, policymakers, research scholars, foreign delegates and Indian and foreign students who are engaged in research related to contemporary legal issues. Additionally, scholars from non- law disciplines who are addressing legal matters from an Interdisciplinary standpoint are also encouraged to join.

    Submission Guidelines

    Only selected abstracts will be permitted for presentation.

    Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must be accompanied by a cover page stating the following: –

    • Title of the Paper
    • Sub-theme of the paper
    • Name and Designation of the author (s) E-mail address
    • Postal address and Contact Number
    • Email for Abstract Submission: armylawcollegepune.seminar@gmail.com

    Full Research Paper: The following guidelines should be followed:

    • The word limit of the paper shall be 5,500-8,500 words (exclusive of footnotes)
    • The main text of the full paper should be in Times New Roman with a font size of 12 and line spacing of 1.5.

Profile and identification for all individual authors and for both authors is a mandate in case of co-authorship.

  • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with spacing of 1.0 (Endnotes are not permitted).
  • One-inch margins should be maintained on all four sides of the pages.
  • Citation Style: Bluebook, 20th edition.
  • Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors and at least one author must attend the Conference to present the paper.
  • No proxy presentations will be allowed.
  • All submissions must be the author’s original and unpublished work. Any amount of Plagiarism will attract immediate disqualification.
  • The plagiarism report should be less than 10%, software like Turnitin will be used for the same
  • All the papers will be peer-reviewed by a committee of experts with respect to their quality, originality, and relevance.
  • All authors/coauthors will have to register and a co-authorship of up to two persons is allowed.
  • A certificate of originality has to be submitted with the full paper.
  • All rights of publication of papers presented in the Seminar shall rest with the Seminar organizers.

Mode of Presentation

  • The presentation will be conducted in a Hybrid manner.
  • 4 sessions will be held in Offline mode
  • 1 session will be held online.
  • Online presentations are only for Participants residing outside Maharashtra.

Registration Fee

  • National UG/PG Students: Rs. 1200 for the Presenter & Rs. 500 for the participant
  • National Academicians, Advocates, Delegates, Policy makers, Research scholars, and other professionals: Rs. 1500 for the Presenter & Rs. 500 for the participant.
  • Co-Authors: Rs. 1200 each
  • Registration fee includes Seminar kit, breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
  • All the delegates are requested to bring original ID Proof along with them.
  • In the case of co-authorship, both participants must register separately. Each author shall pay Rs. 1200 each, in case of co-authorship.
  • Any presenters who opt for accommodation need to contact us at least 2 days prior to the Seminar i.e., on or before 10th December, 2023. The fee for accommodation is Rs.1500 per person.
