Women are the embodiment of wealth and power; they are vital to society and the day-to-day functioning of the entire family depends on them; they fulfil the roles of teacher, friend, nurse, mother, wife, and homemaker while also taking care of everyone else’s needs. Women are regarded as the backbone of society because they are known for carrying out multiple responsibilities with ease every day

Violence against women is a complex and multi-dimensional phenomenon, and over the years, there have been a number of theoretical approaches that have attempted to explain this complexity.

The United Nations defines violence against women as “any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.”

The Seminar will include paper presentations and participants who want to attend the Seminar as spectators. Its objective is to encourage participation and paper presentations from researchers, academicians, policymakers, research scholars, foreign delegates and Indian and foreign students who are engaged in research related to contemporary legal issues. Additionally, scholars from non- law disciplines who are addressing legal matters from an Interdisciplinary standpoint are also encouraged to join.
