About the Organisation

The Screenwriters Association is a labour union based in Mumbai, India. Members are authors, novelists, playwrights, and journalists who work in films, TV, and digital media.

 Members of SWA can register their scripts, screenplays and lyrics with the organisation, and seek recourse in case of a dispute.


About the Opportunity

Screenwriters Association India is offering a 3-month internship opportunity in their Legal Department for individuals with a background in law and a keen interest in copyright issues. 


Eligibility

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent degree, exceptional communication and drafting skills, and proficiency in English and Hindi languages. Knowledge of other Indian languages is a plus.


Roles and Responsibilities

As a legal intern, you will assist in conducting legal research, preparing documents, mediating disputes and collaborating with the legal team on various areas of laws including privacy laws.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in copyright law within the entertainment industry and work closely with experienced professionals in the field. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills and make valuable connections in the industry.
