Introduction to the Conference

Climate change is not just an environmental issue; it also impacts global economies, health systems, human rights, and social equity. While technical innovations offer groundbreaking solutions to mitigate its effects, these advancements must be backed by strong legal frameworks and policies to ensure their effective implementation and long-term sustainability. Addressing this complex issue requires a multi-disciplinary approach, combining both technical innovations and legal frameworks to create sustainable solutions. While technological advancements in renewable energy, carbon capture, and sustainable infrastructure offer promising avenues to mitigate the effects of climate change, these solutions can only succeed within well-defined legal and policy structures. This journey of bridging legal and technical approaches goes beyond just creating rules or inventing new machines; it is about fostering a holistic, multi-disciplinary effort to ensure that technological advancements align with sustainable governance. Together, they form a pathway toward a future where innovation is empowered by laws that ensure fairness, responsibility, and the long-term health of our planet. In this exploration of climate change, we must realize that neither law nor technology alone can solve the crisis. Only by working hand-in-hand can they create a resilient framework that addresses the needs of both people and the planet. This is the challenge and the opportunity that lies before us. We invite scholars, practitioners, and students to contribute to this important dialogue by submitting their research and insights on the legal and technical dimensions of climate change. Together, we aim to explore innovative solutions that bridge the gap between policy and practice, fostering a sustainable future for all.
