SVKM Pravin Gandhi College of Law (PGCL) is organizing a National Conference on Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Law, on October 9th, 2021.

About the Organizer

The SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law (PGCL) was established in the year 2004 and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. the institution aims at giving students exposure to experiential learning in the varied fields of law and in this regard we have conducted various workshops and seminars.

About the Conference

Inclusivity in law is an area of both desire and debate. While some foundation is already laid, much needs to be achieved to offer to our citizens a just legal system.

Inclusivity in the law requires greater participation from across disciplines; we need environmentalists, linguists, educators, medical experts, economists, political theorists, social activists, and artists to share their knowledge and expertise for a legal system that is truly inclusive.

Law can be made inclusive by providing an umbrella of protection to all, including the most marginalized. This can be achieved through designing laws that are inclusive and encompassing thereby creating a safe haven for every individual.

To achieve this, members of the legal fraternity and members of varied allied fields need to get together to broaden the vision of justice and equality. We need to devote time for reflections aimed at bringing in multidisciplinary perspectives to make laws more applicable, creative, innovative, and thus – just, fair and reasonable.

The aim of this conference is to offer a comprehensive discourse on the road map towards ensuring inclusivity in law by facilitating a common platform for members of the legal fraternity and all its allied fields.

This conference seeks to invite academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, and all the members from the allied fields to offer their insights that would lead to a greater understanding of the world around us so that one can take more informed steps in the deliverance of justice.

The conference will be held on an online platform- MS Teams. Necessary guidelines for the use of MS Teams will be shared after registration.
