Bachpan Bachao Andolan is an India-based movement campaigning for the rights of children. It was started in 1980 by Nobel Laureate Mr. Kailash Satyarthi. Its focus has centered on ending bonded labor, child labor, and human trafficking, as well as demanding the right to education for all children.

About the Job Opportunity

The position holder will be responsible for ensuring that children in need receive the necessary support and justice on time, as well as providing leadership to the team that will oversee the work on the ground. The position holder must be able to empathize with families and set aside judgement; notice, appraise, and affirm family strengths; and apply critical thinking abilities to address problems.

Job Responsibilities

• To supervise and monitor the progress of ongoing POCSO cases being conducted by our lawyers in different courts across the country.
• To guide the lawyers and support person in their day to day court related work.
• To ensure application for interim compensation are filed well in time.
• To assist the organization in the discharge of duties related to the POCSO cases.
• To provide training and capacity building to the lawyers.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of work (Law; child development; criminology; criminal justice; healthcare; psychology; guidance and counseling; social work; or sociology)
• Other relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialization.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience working with Women and Children.
• Having knowledge of the Child Protection Laws of India
