About the Society for Constitutional Law Discussion

The Society for Constitutional Law Discussion (TSCLD) was established by the students of Chanakya National Law University, Patna, with a vision to provide a platform for public discourse and deliberation vis-à-vis Constitutional Law.

The Society, through its E-Magazine and Blogs, intends to serve as a platform for students, academicians, and practitioners to engage in Constitutional law discussion and writing. The Constitution gives us the first and last hope for rights, liabilities, and justice. TSCLD provides a platform where you can write and express your opinion on different issues related to Constitutional Law fearlessly.

TSCLD is inviting submissions under Call for Blogs on contemporary developments in Constitutional Law.

Eligibility

Students of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs, professionals and academicians are eligible to make their submissions.

Themes

  • Confluence of technology and legal field vis-a-vis
    Internet, social media and free speech
    AI and the realisation of DPSP and constitutional values
    AI and judiciary: Implications on Inclusiveness
    Targeted social media posts and elections.
    Right to privacy in the digital age.
  • Recent jurisprudence on fundamental rights
    Rights of elders
    Same sex marriage
    Religious freedom and majoritarian ideas.
    Gender equality: Progress and Challenges
  • Constitutional Morality
    Manipur incident and the challenges before the judiciary.
    Demarcation of separation of power between judiciary and legislature.
    Media trials

Note: The given themes are not exhaustive in nature. Research articles on any constitutional issue would be considered for publication.

Submission Guidelines

Authors wishing to contribute their work to TSCLD should ensure that their submission conforms and confines to the following guidelines:

  • Word Count: 1500 – 2500 words
  • Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors only.
  • The Plagiarism should not be more than 20%. Any piece exceeding the limit will be rejected.
  • The submission should be the original, unpublished work of the author(s). It should not be in consideration at any other forum.
  • Document Type: (.doc) or (.docx) file only.
  • The language for the submission of a manuscript will be only English.
  • Submissions should be analytical in nature and should not merely be of descriptive nature, and they should have a clear angle and central argument.
  • Formatting Guidelines

    • Font (Throughout): Times New Roman
    • Heading Size: 14
    • Font Size: 12
    • Line Spacing: 1.5
    • The submission shall be properly structured with sub-headings/sub-topics.
    • The submission must have hyperlinks to the sources, including any judgments, laws, treaties, or legal text which are referenced. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources. The editors make the final decision over what constitutes a respectable source.
    • References that cannot be hyperlinked may be cited in the endnote.
    • Citation style for Endnotes: Times New Roman, font size 10, line spacing 1.0, OSCOLA 4th edition style of citation.

    How to Submit?

    • The authors should submit the manuscript using Google Form attached at the end of the post. 
    • All the entries will be screened by the editorial board before publication.
    • The authors, by submitting their entries, will be deemed to have divested the copyright to TSCLD. However, all the moral rights shall remain with the Author(s).
