Marwadi University is the only University in Saurashtra region with NAAC A+ Accreditation and one of the institute to receive Centre of Excellence award from Government of Gujarat. It was established under the Gujarat Universities Act (Act 9 of 2016) on 9 May 2016.

About the Workshop
Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, Rajkot is organizing 2-day oine/ in-person workshop on “Clinical Legal Education: Training the Trainers” for Academicians and Professionals (on 06-07 January 2024). Clinical Legal Education (CLE) is an approach to legal education that emphasizes hands-on learning through real world experiences.
This workshop on “Clinical Legal Education: Training the Trainers” aims to provide a platform for legal educators to discuss and explore the current issues and challenges faced in Clinical Legal Education, and to identify future directions and opportunities.
There is visible lack of CLE in the State of Gujarat and the traditional universities teaching Law, do not have trained faculties or the necessary infrastructure to impart such a training, therefore, this CLE two days’ training for teacher programmes in Gujarat can help to bridge the gap between legal education and the legal profession. The workshop emphasizes on the practical training aspect rather than focusing on just the theoretical aspects of CLE.

The workshop will consist of keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and case studies. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with experts in the field and share their own experiences and insights.
The workshop will be divided in 6 sessions, each of 1.5-2 hours. Further, there will be a visit to Kagdadi village to give the participants insights into practicality of CLE. The workshop is open to legal educators interested in Clinical Legal Education. It will be held at Faculty of Law, Marwadi University Campus, Rajkot and participants can register online.
Overall, this workshop will provide a valuable opportunity for participants to learn from each other, share their experiences, and develop new strategies for improving Clinical Legal Education.
